A lifetime spent helping people learn.

Dr Esther Marloth is a specialist in remedial education and learner support, with a doctorate in remedial education dedicated to helping learners who experience barriers to learning.

Dr Esther Marloth

Her story

Teaching since the age of twelve.

Esther’s teaching career began remarkably early: at twelve years old she was teaching literacy skills to adult Northern Sotho women. That early experience—watching adults discover reading for the first time—shaped a conviction that has guided her ever since: everyone can learn when the right support is in place.

In the three decades since, she has worked across education while completing more than twelve years of formal study, culminating in a doctorate in remedial education focused on supporting learners with barriers to learning. Her doctoral qualification is internationally recognised, including in Germany. As a SACE registered educator and SACE Approved CPTD Provider, she also delivers recognised Continuing Professional Teacher Development programmes for schools and educators.

Her book, A Complete Guide to Identify and Support Barriers to Learning — now published in both English and German — distils eight years of dedicated research. Every chapter was reviewed by specialists and organisations around the world, alongside experienced remedial teachers and parents, and draws on thousands of research articles to keep the guidance current.
